I Like Myself, I Like Myself, I Like Myself

You will never be able to give the world more caring than you have for yourself.

I work with clients all the time who say I am not worth it, I don't deserve it, I will do for others and deprive myself. All these thoughts they stay stuck in their comfort zones with insane rationalizations like: "I am being unselfish, I worry about others first," or misunderstanding "love others before you love yourself".

These are all lies. I have found long term if a person is putting others needs above their own first they have to have certain of their needs fulfilled if it is truly genuine. Most of the time they do it because they are trying to fill a need that they are not speaking to.

If a person is truly not loving of them self they are putting others first in order to gain validation, a feeling of worth through the other individual. This still seems pretty Innocent at first. I am here to be a little in your face on this point. The motive becomes more and more unhealthy when the doer has places their own self worth in the other persons hand. They cannot feel good unless the other person feels good about them. Huge problem here. This can be a vicious sick cycle that never resolves, people are not concerned enough to fill your self worth meter, they cannot be, you cannot be, it won't happen.

This is why your self worth cannot come from without, but instead from within.

I like myself, I enjoy saying this today. I have not always been able to shout this from the roof top. I know today I don't give another person in my life permission to like me unless I like me first. I know that I don't genuinely like another or even love another unless I love from within first.

Don't let the world tell you lies, love yourself, love everything about you, if you cannot love your entire self, choose one thing you can love about yourself and focus on it until you see another thing.
