What is the great sickness of our days?
If I may so bold. . .
A person who feels they have no purpose is : The Great Sickness
When a person seeks out purpose for their life, defines it clearly and work towards it's fulfillment then there is a great degree of righteousness involved. Not righteous in a pious sense righteous in correct or true north compass sense.
When this measure is missing, when a person has not clearly defined their purpose then a great deal of confusion, hopelessness, and destructive apathy occurs.
So easy to provide proof. . .
Take an example of the individual who is clear that they desire to lead-
Lead for what purpose. It is predictable that if the purpose is not clearly defined the desire and responsibility of leading can corrupt very quickly the leader.
Then the leader who has purpose. A person has a desire to lead in order to provide a clear path for those who have not been endowed with the wisdom necessary to take on this "New Economy."
Who is more corruptible. I suppose it should be clear. Does the first leader fulfil his/her purpose at the moment they are leading and corruptible motives can set in to for example lead out of lust of power, to control, or for greed.
Sharp contrast the second purpose driven leader leads. The leader's objective of assisting others to become equipped is complete, this leader can look to replicate and assist many more. The purpose doesn't change the capacity to do more for others does as the leaders efficiency and blessings of growth increases.
Get clear about your purpose quickly and change this purpose slowly.

The Responsibility To Do Something

There is a huge trend in the world. There is an enormous amount of excuses that are constantly being found to shift responsibility.
The state of the economy is no reason to lay down and do nothing.
Leaders needed. . .
There are two ills that I intend to write on today that are ills of such a great force that ultimately they can lead to severe destruction.
Number One- It is a shame when a person will do nothing because they feel that what they do, does so little. Take the time to do good within your sphere of influence:
An example: I see when I go to one of my favorite Ocean views and surf spots. When you watch for a while as a surfer climbs out of the waves. The one who believes in the gift that is the ocean and it's state of well being you can see him/her pick up a couple pieces of litter off the beach and drop it in the big tin dumpster on the way in. This has become a pattern that perpetuates in this spot in particular, more and more do the same. It is noble it is right, it was not the cleaners trash, it was not the entire beach clean up it is right to do.
This leads into another evil: The person will do nothing if the blame can be shifted. Doing nothing is an action. It is a lie that many will tell themselves to attempt to stay neutral. When things get messed up because of the actions of a few. The world needs leaders to decide in spite of the causation of the problem.
For example: I have served on many committees that have been in a stuck state a stand still. The cause many times is the lack of ownership. The person who caused the problem is less important then the solution going forward has ever been. I suggest gain the desired result, have a vision and work backwards to the plan of execution. This has gone against the grain of many a majority who believe to get where we are going we must first point out who or what messed the situation up to begin with. This does nothing but causes a shift of responsibility and usually places committees into apathy when denial of ownership is possible.

Helping Others As A Reflex
What impresses me the most is not about the leadership from the front of the room. The board members that are stoic and unapproachable. What impresses me the most about a leader is not detachment.
The thing that impresses the most about leadership I am around is that they help as a reflex. . .
To walk side by side a true leader, one who draws on energy and a cause that is greater then him or herself is to be impressed that in their nature they very easily and unintentionally serve others and bring value to their lives.
If leadership truly is influence nothing more or nothing less. Imagine the positive influence someone has on the world as they set in motion quick acts of service.
You want an example of the power of this?
There is a powerful study that measured the effects of acts of kindness on peoples environments. Did you know that the person that does something nice for someone has chemicals released in their brain that rewards them, then the person receiving the kindness does as well have "feel good" chemicals released. The interesting thing is that the bystander watching the act has the same chemicals released and may naturally start a similar chain reaction elsewhere.
So say that there is a stranger struggling with their bags getting onto the plane, you could stop and assist the person you are boarding with is also rewarded as they witness this, models similar acts of kindness later on that day and you've set in motion something that is far greater then you.
Yes the kind of leaders I choose to follow don't lift themselves above others, they lift others needs above themselves.

Facebook Taboos, How to Lose a Friend in 3 steps

Facebook- a place to re-connect with friends you haven't seen for a long time. One of the fastest ways to find that person that you think about and wish you hadn't lost touch.
Facebook- a place to meet new people with common interests or interesting people with nothing in common and expand your horizons and shrink the worlds vastness.
Facebook- a place to network and bring value to peoples lives through a reccomondation if you have uncovered a need when a relationship has developed.
Now the 3 things that fills the can o' SPAM:
1) Invitations that have an invite/pitch of the product and services. Don't invite me with your canned ad junk. . . invite me with genuine interest. (Used Car Salesman Approach)
2) Pitches on first response to my invite or the communities invite. Get to know someone first. Chat it up make a connection especially in e-commerce world. Working the numbers will get you suckers, but customers stay out of loyalty. (Premature Pitch)
3) My wall is my wall, news feeds is the communities. Don't write your ad on my wall and pass it off as 'trying to help me out'. Outside the cyber world when someone tags up the wall it is called Graffiti this is why I dub this last one Graffiti Approach, expect to be reported!!! The least of which would be a warning from me and then the dropped friend next time.
If you agree share this around, if you don't agree comment, if you appreciate say so.
Love to my friends,
Joshua C Andrus
