For the lack of a better way to put it: This is the first day of the rest of our life. What are you waiting for, life isn't happening back there, it isn't happening next week, it is happening right now. At any time one can make a choice to change what they are currently doing and have a completely different outcome based on that decision. It is very similar to driving to a destination. You could choose to go many different directions, but if you come back to the map and decide what is really important you could end up in Disneyland (for you honey) or in the middle of a desert playing on a sand hill full of red ants. The choice is yours but each decision is taking you somewhere wake up to that. Here are some helpful hints to help you make you choices:
1) Define what is important to you.
2) Get vision, what does my ideal life look like.
3) Get clear, if what you are looking at in your ideal life is not big for example it won't be enough to get you up in the morning and drive towards it.
4) Look at certain check points along the way that will let you know that you are on the right path. Similar to driving to a location if you don't stop for gas and re-group you will likely run out of gas and come to a complete stop.
5) Who will be traveling with you on this journey.
6) Choose wisely, sometimes you will want to involve some of your support, sometimes it will be better to be alone to your thoughts.
7) Decide who else is going to be effected by your end goal. Are you going to be taking others on this journey, if you are you better be prepared to involve them on the destination. Find out if the direction you are heading in is the same as your spouses. Find out what is important to them and ensure they don't get off by making sure you tie in the proper rewards for them.
8) If you are married spend time dreaming and planing together, this is an effective way to make sure the stearing wheel is heading in the right direction.
9) After you have sought out your vision of where you are going then fully involve God. Ensure that he is involved before as you plan, during the time you crystalize the plan and at every step of the way.
10) Put the plan into action. We would all find it a bit crazy if the person who takes time away from there business, gets there family together to let them know there plans and sits and waits. They never get up to leave, they sit around thinking about their dream vacation.
Dreaming and planning are great, and remember the person who is always dreaming and planning and never doing is delusional.

The Best Day Ever!!!
Have you ever felt that one day in particular you operate more efficiently then others? Did you hold onto that day, wondering why the other days of your life could not be more fulfilling? Did your self-worth increase as a result of that day?
What are the factors?
I am going to list the top five factors that likely contributed to that day running so smoothly:
1) YOUR ENERGY. It is likely one of the elements in that incredible day was energy. It is an ‘x-factor’ that really will expose the mediocre from the great, and the great from the masters it is crucial.
2) YOUR COMPLETENESS. In most of the activities you did on that day you likely completed the tasks to their fullness. There is incredible self worth and confidence gain in this alone.
3) YOUR PRIOR PLANNING. You can notice this as a factor with simple things. How does the day start out if you set up the clothing you want to wear the day before, how does it compare when you are in the morning fog trying to decide.
4) YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHERS. A compliment, a good interaction, a leveling with someone clearing a resentment, these are all winds of momentum in the great day.
5) YOUR MOMENTUM. This is a key component. On days that are effective the tasks you would avoid other days are done first and you build on the self-efficacy from that day.
6) YOUR SELF DISCIPLINE (negative). Those things you are attempting to avoid, you do and an unseen force rewards you with some incredible endorphins. (things we are avoiding are as a result of awareness they don’t work for us anymore, your brain releases chemicals and actually creates different ways to operate as a result of this discipline).
7) YOUR SELF DISCIPLINE (positive). Those things you are attempting to do more of you follow through. An amazing quote by Zig Ziglar If I do things that I know I need to do at the time I need to do them, I will begin to be able to do the things I want to do (kind of adapted for my style Thanks Zig).
8) YOUR LOVE METER. I am not talking about cupid necessarily here, but it is involved. Love is the most incredible constructive force in the world! What you focus on grows. Wouldn’t you like to grow your most incredible force, Love more it is actually an action word.
9) YOUR HATE METER. The same is true of the opposite, hate is destructive, and this is lead into by apathy many times check out your day that you operate very deficiently, I bet hate is involved.
10) YOUR PERSONAL PASSION. Likely the day that you enjoy the most you have spent time with your personal passion, your item that you sense subconsciously you are placed here to pursue passionately. So much more to be written here on this topic, but for another time and day.
Check these areas and see if you can spend more time in the ‘zone’ have incredible days of creative force!!!

Goal Setting Process-personal
The idea of not asking for what you want, or feeling guilty for asking for too much is old dated thinking. The placing the order of ones desires when they have been searched out and relate to purpose is actually the creation proccess. Because it has been searched out from within then it has a purity that does not involve greed, lust, and envy. The placing an order and becoming clear about what I want prevents complacency, and drives action. The neglecting to do so causes laziness, and apathy. Desires of creation come from the creator, desires of contentment come from fear. It is good to be greatful for all current blessings, and great to invest in the blessings that cause one to become more.
For my relationship/lifestyle- We are planning a vacation to each of the families favorite spots they have learned about and desired to visit. Kyler identifies Europe, my wife decided the Greek Isles, Olivia learned about the pyramids and Brayden decided that he enjoyed the baseball parks of America, so we are traveling from each park to park this summer. I enjoy this one the most because I can do what I love the most and that is work on building the business, and being on vacation at the same time. Our motorhome is amazing, It is huge and we enjoy more ammenities then a five star hotel. When we pull into the cities of america people always ask what is it you do. I smile and simply say, I'm so glad you asked come and find out tonight as a friend and a mentor tonight talks about their journey at the Marriot on Elm st. or the Hilton on Friars rd. for an amazing individual who has set up people with a business model that people would break down brick walls to gain.
As much as I love living in our home in Malibu, I do like being on the road. I enjoy the fact when we are on the coasts I can wake up and surf, (west coast journeys) on the best beaches, get out get showered and feel that calm relaxed at ease feeling while I dial the east coast for two hours and be done working for the day, it's from 8-10 in the morning on the west coast, I've called my leaders for the conference call from 8-830 and spoken with the new business partners from 0830-10 which is really the 1130-1300 on the east coast. The beauty is that by the time the kids wake up at 10 they are ready to visit the muesems of Monterey, San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles. They are learning so much and we pay the extra to get the real education from the curators, directors, producers, and owners for these sites. around lunch Erin usually has the best taste for a great Cafe where the kids can enjoy a good meal but are able to explore with our nanny the restaurant, they are not outside the boundaries a lot of the restaraunt owners in most of the bigger cities are customers of ours and have been out to some of our seminars and our family is theres and vice a versa. Erin and I enjoy the mid afternoon date, it feels that way. Our Nanny really is amazing, she is taking her undergraduate courses online when we travel, as she is pursuing her Masters in Networking and Marketing. It's kinda funny, she is probably the only student that enjoys the luxury of in class when we are home and online when we are away. She goes to our Practical Business School and something about not only knowing the dean, but being knowing the founder (myself with some amazing leaders) lets her get the flexiblity. She enjoys the life of travel. She is building quite the business her self.
In the afternoon it is activity time and due to some incredible courses we developed the kids are able to expand the motorhome at the park in 15 minutes into a gym. Kyler loves his Karate instructer. Brayden is an amazing athelete in his virtual trainer he is playing at levels 2 times his age and the scouts know it, his strength has gotten to a level that he would be one of the first freshman to enter the combines, Freshman in High school that is. He loves it for what he gets from it whether he chooses that later that is his choice. Olivia loves her Mui Thai, Judo and tumbling classes. That gym on wheels has become one of my favorite parts of the day. I enjoy being at the practices as I watch the kids stretch out of desire to become more. They don't need motivation, they love it, it is a game, they work hard, but they never know what work is. I watch them through the safety net, so do the passers by every day. The kids like performing, it is good for their focus.
After they clean up we have our catering that is just finished setting up, Erin still does not like cooking, so luckily she doesn't anymore. tonight I am speaking at the briefing so it is a light dinner, the kids know they are going to their friends tonight and it's a snack night. They are excited because it has been a couple months since seeing their friends in Seattle. The amazing thing is they keep in touch daily via the internet phones, but there is something magical in every city with the reunions. They are great kids they all enjoy a higher education, the camps together during conventions and team events, some who's parents are able to stay at home. They know their values and appreciate their parents pursuits.
When the briefing is done, all the families meet up for the after event. It is so much fun to meet with the team in Seattle, they know the coolest restaraunts. We laugh to the point of tears about some of the briefings events, and we answer questions. The kids benefit from the mentorship as they ear jockey we all know they are listening and answer questions asked so that they can, we don't let them know that we know though. I promote my book signing from 12-1300 tommorow at the space needle and let them know to bring their friends early because I don't want to spend too much time away from the family. They all laugh because I never had to say the word, our team is known for early.

8 Benifits of Pre-Planning
One of the greatest habits in the series for habits to master is Pre-planning. The book uncovers some deeper reasons why this is so important but in this article I will list 8 immediate benefits that anyone can see with a few simple steps:
The vision of preplanning- What constitutes Pre-Planning? This is recommended to be done the night before one retires. There are some very important reasons behind this as well. The book goes into some spiritual symbolics, but for practical purposes:
1) the night before gives you direction that begins at the sound of the alarm clock.
2) the overwhelming distractions of day to day life don't allow for the necessary stopping and regrouping and planning in the moment, pre-planning can draw the authors attention to priorities and tasks
3) commitment is formed in the doing of the task long after the emotion you have made the commitment in has past. When the task is written the night before it allows for a disciplining of the emotions (which are far and away human's greatest strengths and weakness)
4) the book describes responding in situations vs. reaction. Responding leaves us believing that after some of the facts are gathered about perceived crisis an informed decision is made about the activity that follows. Reaction would lead us to believe that the action comes as result of an external force. I love the example given in the book about someone who walks around carrying a bucket of water or bucket of gasoline. The pre-planning will allow the responder to do so according to the priorities set and the end goal in mind.
5) Pre-planning in change model is a form of getting unstuck, as a result a more restful night can be achieved for the planner because they know that they have done their part in their mind and can rise with self-worth with simple tasks of success.
6) A plan that is prepared before a day begins can be shared with a workout partner to help hold the planner accountable, if this does not happen in advance then it is difficult to elicit such crucial support.
7) Allows for a crucial time management piece that the book describes.
8) While the planner dreams then if there dreams then some of life's greatest advances have resulted.
Try the discipline of pre-planning for 1 week and see what the results are. It is crucial.

Uncover The Motive and Operate Efficiently
The field of marketing and promotions is a science. Or even better labeled a craft. There are so many directions to head in.
The perfect part about the vast and wide possibilities is that it gives the marketer every oppurtunity and freedom to go in any direction the individual chooses, and create some incredible results.
The unfortunate part is that it can lead down many paths of frustration if the marketer is not aware of what they are motivated by. There appears to be categories of motivation, and each are important. It takes time for someone to decide what is at the heart of their pursutes similar to taking time for the student in college to decide what they want to study.
The most important question to tease the motives out when working in marketing is to ask the questions why? what is the most important thing in my life? or if I could remove all restraints on my capacity to do something what would I do? When I have been the happiest in life what was I doing?
Luckily we live in the country we do that truely allows an individual to decide what is important, what they enjoy doing and then go and find an oppurtunity to do it over and over, becoming over time a master and getting paid very well.
When working with someone to uncover their optimum potential always remember that the same is true for them in business as well, ask telling questions to get to the heart, and I do mean heart of what motivates them. Then utilize this motivation to help them produce incredible results.
We live in a free-enterprise environment which leaves many possibilities, this is great but can leave a person stumped similiar to the writer with the drive to write and no direction to take.
And we live in a Country that pays and recognizes greatness. Greatness comes from repitition of skilled activities countless times over a long period of time. This will only occur with passion if the individual loves what they do.
Michael Phelps, Tiger Woods, Robert and Kim Kiyosaki, Venus and Serena Williams, Michael Jordan, all these and many more understand this and went to work over and over and over again creating great results that led to greatness.
The formula has always been there, its time for you to step into it. Find a coach who can uncover your motivation, and then work together with you to inspire you.

Without Vision
A good leader markets hope. It is his/her story of trial to tell after victories are won, but not during the adversity. To reveal to those a leader leads the trials and losses prematurely is damaging. It kills hope. It kills vision. It is not unhealthy for the leader to keep these things to themselves.
When we hear leaders tell there stories and they say everybody has trials we all have problems, it is the tendency for the follower to hear: they are just saying that to let me know they are here with me, but they couldn't really have struggles, look at them. This is why the follower is the follower. The fact is that the leader has larger issues then most followers in there depth it is the mindset of the leader that is the difference. A leader sees a struggle as an obstacle to overcome, a hurdle to jump over.
If the leader lacks the skill set to overcome or leap over the 'hurdle' then that skill set will be acquired. The most important difference is that the leader does not shift the blame. The leader takes full ownership for anything he has allowed in his business, organization, or relationship. If he/she needs guidance the leader is humble and seeks it out from someone who has what the leader needs to overcome. It is not sought out from the follower because in the followers mindset this would damage hope.
A leader focuses on what he/she wants to grow in the arena, protecting the liabilities with a shield and killing off any signs that would attack the hope of those he/she leads. There is no talk among followers about defeat, they cannot overcome such damaging discussions by those whom they are following. It is only for the telling at the appropriate time when the leader decides, usually when it will have the most affect for the follower to genuinely know that the leader can lead them through what they are facing.
"Without vision the people perish" the storyteller says. So true it is. Remember if you turn around and people are following then you are leading, if you turn around and no one is there then you are just going for a walk.

Victim or Victor
What an amazing event. I had people texting through out it; "Sorry I couldn't make it," "I had ____ come up". I just have to say. I feel sorry for them they didn't make it too. The two time Miss Black California brought the 300+ in attendance to our knees, to our note pads for some amazing nuggets of wisdom, and finally to our feet as she showed a clip of her overcoming the impossible.
What made our speaker so unique. Besides the fact that she is a single mom of two 9 year old twin boys and has fully retired herself from the corporate world and makes over six figures from home. Besides the grace, presence and character displayed as a public speaker. The beauty that is stunning as she walks into a room and is magnetic?
None of these are what amazes people who know this individual. She has overcome more than anyone I know personally and made it to the pinnacle of leadership.
She was paralyzed twice, two near fatal car crashes left our speaker without a possible chance of making it to her feet again. During her first accident she was modeling and acting at the time and when she was told she would never walk again, the agency she worked for said "you are out a job you are too attractive to play someone who is disabled". Wow!!! She decided to get fit and won some very prestigious fitness awards during this time. She also told her friends that she would enter to run for Miss Black California, to which one replied "You are in a Wheel Chair, maybe you should consider Miss Disabled California". Did she listen, no she became Miss Black California twice, performing the same dance routines in her wheel chair and letting her light so shine that they could not deny her beauty and amazing spirit.
She was on stage last night using only a cane and in high heels for two and half hours training and actually gave San Diego an extra half hour of her valuable time. With many more 'feats over many more painful experiences she was able to do the impossible. What was the difference?
The way she views life looks different. I could not keep up with the 1 percenters that allows her to be in the upper 3 % in income and success across the countries population but here are some of the few most important that I caught:
- Sometimes you have to attempt to balance while achieving, get unbalanced first in massive activity and then balance later.
- Any excuse will work, so you could just as well say I ran out of peanut butter, so you can both laugh about it move on and do better next time.
- Your excuses should be your reasons. Example: "I can't afford the training," think "I would not have this problem if I was trained well enough to bring more value and no longer have this problem."
- Your opportunity resembles a brand new carpeted room. You wouldn't let someone come in with muddy boots and stain the brand new carpets would you? She never let anyone do that with her business opportunity.
- Leaders are Readers, similar to the Jim Rohn philosophy "Do your best to get it all", and "You are paid by the value you bring to the market."
- Pray for the business professionals you are developing into leaders nightly, many are like family.
- Everyone has the same 24 hours. The WHY for doing working in business needs to drive urgency, before it is too late. (some will understand this, some won't).
The bottom line from the event last night is that there is no excuse that won't work, if there is not a more powerful reason to drive beyond it, and you can do anything you have placed in your heart to do with the Power of God who strengthens you.

Market or Sale: What is the difference
The classic "I don't want to sale," line is heard today a lot when people get started as a business owners. It always seems surprising to me as I mentor people that one of the first things they try to do in presenting an item or service is to 'sale' the person on their reasons they need it.
Two main frustrations with this mentality of "I don't want to sale". First of all everyone sales, every conversation is a sale. It happens more subtly but everyone is either being passive about their needs, passive aggressive about their wants or needs or aggressive about their agenda or assertive about theirs and the other parties desires. Assertive is the 'win-win' that you hear Dr. Stephen Covey and many others talk about. The second frustration is that "I don't want to sale," is really what I want to hear when I am coaching someone. I don't mean this to be confusing, I simply mean to say that most business models today are about marketing. There is a huge difference that I will explore in a later paragraph between the two.
Most of the time when I hear "I don't want to sale," it is out of ignorance. What needs training is that you need new skills to learn to market.
Everyone is already natural in their unique way in sales. If a new set of marketing skills can be added then it would eliminate the pushy pressure of irritating sales. If a marketing mentality can be achieved then an abundance mentality will replace a "this person has to buy or else", fear. All I know is that the leaders in the small business and entrepreneurial world don't need any one individual. If you came along and robbed a leader blind of all their financial means they would be on top in under five years again because of the skill set that has been developed over time. The sales people however may not be so fortunate which has appeared to be the case with many who have seen the tides turn in their current supply and demand economy (heavy supply, light demand).
What is Marketing? Simply for contrasting sales and marketing- Marketing is finding qualified customers or business partners based on interest, financial means, or desire towards a product/service or opportunity. What is sales- completing a transaction with an individual who may not have been in the market, but over the course of convincing and at times overselling has chosen to exchange money with the seller.
This may be subtle but lets take for example a Lamborghini dealer. Does he know the value of his vehicles? Absolutely!!! Does he sale his vehicle. . . hmmm not really. A $260,000 vehicle does not need to be sold it is bought. It is marketed through its reputation. Why in the world do you not see a commercial, no need. The customer who can afford the car has had desire, an interest and the means to finance that vehicle. One of my mentors drives such a beautiful vehicle, and I can tell you irrespective of the person who provided the paperwork for him to sign the car was his long before he parked it in his driveway.
How does this compare to the used car sales that everyone uses as an example of pressure sales. When a person walks on to a car lot especially today, there are about 5-6 salesman who compete to convince, what can this person afford, not what is there interest. If I can get them into this car at this cost my commission looks like this, if I lower then it looks like this, if I am too set they walk, if I am not kind enough then the cost gets lowered even more, I need this sale, what about a soda to lubricate the offer. . . Not once does the buyer have their desires, interests, looked at over there financial means. It may be mentioned but the primary time spent at the dealership is about the bottom line. This is okay and is a craft to its own but resembles a tug of war.
So what? Well here is the deal amateurs convince professionals sort. Amateurs ask what's in it for me (sales). Professionals find out what is in it for the buyer and if there is purchase that is eligible to be made (marketing).
Simply put if you want to become an expert develop an abundance mentality and find out if the customer future business partner's interests, desires, and financial means match up with a good candidate for your product/service or opportunity and stop convincing a square peg it can fit into a round hole.

From Zero to Hero
The economy is bad, the economy is bad, the economy is bad. . . It sounds worse than Chicken Little around here. This is no hit on the many families that have been effected by all the lay offs that Corporate America has been forced to do. It really is the problem with companies living on credit. They say one of the number one factors that have created such a need to cut costs and lay off workers is that companies have been paying its workers for years now with credit!!! How much sense does that make? Hire and maintain employees with money you have not earned yet. . . sounds like unwise household finances to me.
That is what makes an event that occurred last night so amazing and necessary. I was sitting in a room full of 300 plus people listening to a presenter who literally thinks differently than all these large corporations. This gentleman at the age of 28 has over 100,000 in the bank today and has all the time freedom to go with the finances. Must have been raised by wealthy parent’s right? Wrong in fact his mom was in the audience and shared her story of how her son had allowed her to step away from Corporate America. The amazing thing is that he has another leader that he has helped to do the same, with his mom in the room who he personally helped retire from a 25 year nursing career. What makes these individuals different then all the people complaining about the economy?
Difference in opportunity? No. Difference in talent? No. Skill Level? Sort of, but not at first. Difference in activity? Yah but not quite on the mark.
The main difference is in philosophy. One of the first things I believe occurs during layoffs as was the case 4 years ago with last nights presenter, is that their is a sick feeling after going to work giving it your all, only to be laid off because your all isn't enough to warrant the amount of money it takes to cover the bills and like the presenter last night the car is re-possessed and you are not able to make on time one day. As a result the cell phone is shut off and your friends turn away from you because rent is due. Tragic and avoidable, who knows. . .
Many of the people whom I am around today believe in thinking differently. It is like the great Jim Rohn says "The same wind blows on us all; it is the set of the sail that makes the difference." After hard times comes opportunity, then hard times, it is the natural cycle of life's journey. Like the presenter last night who faced incredible adversity, opportunity came knocking. I believe he could have missed it though. Many people, especially those who are not grateful for this land of opportunity would have. These gentlemen didn't miss it and as a result of his decision to become a small business owner he has led to his organization of business owners being paid hundreds of thousand dollars this past four years.
Mark my words it will be the small business owners and the entrepreneurs that help to create a new economy in the next ten years.
Let me sharply contrast this with my neighbor who came over to my house at ten as I was getting back from working out after the meeting last night. He came over wearing his ear muff headset and ranting and raving about the 'sky is falling' mentality. He had gotten so worked up about everything that he admitted to me he was at his job cursing up a storm about all the damages of the government bailout that was just past. If it didn't point out a serious subject it would have been comical. The serious subject is this- what you focus on grows. He was so uptight that he couldn't even sleep, he was predicting doom and gloom so fanatically that if a million dollars was on the ground he would have stomped right past it on his way to spin another unsuspecting worrier.
Listen, the bottom line is that during this time of unsure recession and even maybe depression history has shown those who look for opportunity can actually become wealthier then during the time when the economy is thriving. My message is simple, stop trying to worry about the countries economy, start over if necessary and manage your household’s economy. "The same wind blows on us all; it's the set of the sail. . ."
